Moroccanoil. I love it. That is all. Or is it? You may be asking why do I love it so much that I’m recommending it so boldly to you all? Read on for the answer.

Moroccanoil is a brand of Argan oil, with silicone and other ingredients mixed in. It’s not pure Argan oil but it has the benefits of Argan oil plus a few more that the added chemical ingredients offer. Firstly although I like to use as few chemicals as possible, not all chemicals are all bad. There are some benefits too.

Moroccanoil protects your hair from the inside out… a little (a few drops) goes a long way and you don’t get that greasy look of other hair oils. It’s great for hydrating hair before and after a blow dry, as it tames frizz but it’s uses go far beyond hydrating and minimising frizz.

Shine & dry
A few drops in towel-dried hair is all you need to add shine and a faster drying time – perfect for long-hair like mine.

Tease/ Un-tease
I love the volume and structure that backcombing gives to my flat, lifeless hair. I hate brushing it out. Running Moroccanoil through the backcombed lengths makes the process much quicker. The best part is that you get minimal breakage, as the brush slides effortlessly down the hair.

Protect & seal
Moroccanoil is easily absorbed by the hair and protects the hair from the inside out. This means that hair is hydrated from root to tip, thereby minimising the occurrence of split ends.

I’ve only tried the original Moroccanoil oil and Moroccanoil Light oil, but there is a whole haircare range. For reviews of a few key products in the range, check out Aleya’s blog post from earlier this year. It includes the Hydrating Mask, Moisture Repair Conditioner, Paddle Brush, Curl Control Mousse as well as the original Moroccanoil treatment and you can find it HERE.

Have you tried it? What do you think? Does it live up to the hype?
